It is usually structured as a degree in golf management and can be found in both specialized schools and more traditional universities around the country. The programs bring together training in golf techniques and strategies with business courses. By creating courses that apply core business principles to the specific circumstances of the golf industry, it prepares students to move into a wide range of positions within that field. Graduates can go on to run golf courses, direct tours, coach, teach, or work in a myriad of support positions in companies that are directly related to the sport. Some even go on to compete professionally or to become golf journalists.
