Take an island getaway to Lanai

A vacation may be the farthest thing from your mind these days. And with some of the fewest vacation hours in the world, Americans could really use a vacation, especially now. If you don’t think you can take a vacation, you may want to reconsider. Now is the time to take that vacation that you never thought you could afford, because guess what, paradise is on sale!

If you have always wanted to go to Hawaii, now is seriously time to think about it. If you have any sort of expendable income now and Hawaii has always been your dream, you should at least look at the prices and weigh your options; your dream vacation just might be more affordable than you think!

A good idea is to take a look at vacation packages. They are really the least stressful way to travel. If you are looking to travel to Lanai, check for Lanai vacation packages as an easy way to do an all encompassing trip. If you bundle, your needs are basically anticipated and you can get your flight and hotel together, which usually adds up to major savings.

Lanai is the sixth largest of the Hawaiian Islands and is also known as Pineapple Island because in the past it was an island wide pineapple plantation, how yummy!

The island is truly beautiful and a little more remote than other Hawaiian islands. Its tourism industry is in its infancy because of the phasing out of some of the pineapple industry there.

There are currently two resort hotels on the island, which are both run by the Four Seasons and also a golf course.

Lanai is the perfect kind of place for a tropical getaway because it can really feel more remote than other islands in Hawaii. But really any part of Hawaii is spectacularly beautiful. And now more than ever everyone could use an island getaway.

Your Hawaii Vacation: Bring the Family

There are places in the world where bringing the kids can be a hindrance. Hawaii is definitely not one of them. On the contrary, a Hawaiian vacation can be one of the most pleasurable when you bring the whole family to enjoy all that there is to offer. There are many resorts that cater to children, offering them exceptional activities to keep them interested the entire day long. Theme parks abound as well as many educational venues that speak of the deep traditions in the Hawaiian culture. Museums and palaces are great places to visit with the family, as is the live volcano that sits on the Big Island with it ready flowing lava! Now that’s exciting! Take the family on an island-to-island cruise, on hikes through the green velvety mountainsides, on a helicopter ride to view all the islands at once, or on a horseback riding tour. Snorkeling, scuba diving, and surfing are great ways to spend the day, and you can enroll your kids in dive or surf school to get them ready for a good future in the water. Camp grounds are perfect choices and there are many beautiful parks that make it easy to camp out in comfort. There are many beaches with plenty of shade as well as picnic tables and bathrooms to make it easy for you to bring young children along. Choose one of the many Hawaii vacation packages that cater to family travel and you will see how easy it is to spend the time all together.

Discover Lanai

One of the most beautiful islands in Hawaii is Lanai.  Here snorkeling is at its best as you explore Hulopoe Bay, a famed diving spot.  With its clear blue waters, it is hard to get out of the water as it caresses your skin and soothes out all the stresses.  But there is more to do on a Lanai vacation than just this.

The Monroe Trail is an amazing destination with its breathtaking views and a 1,600 foot climb.  Just outside of Lanai city, the rustic trail reveals canyon vistas of the Maunalei gulch and neighboring island, Maui.  Head to the top of Mount Lanailhale where you will climb up to 3,368 feet.

Not to be missed is the Garden of the Gods, or Keahiakawelo, a lunar-like landscape of otherworldly rock pilings.  There is much lore around this beautiful place, and a guided tour will update you on the legends that surround it.  Hike or four-wheel drive to the site where you will experience something truly unique.

There are two championship golf courses in Lanai as well as two beautiful resorts to stay in.  Don’t take a vacation to Hawaii without at least visiting this quintessential island where you will have plenty of memories to take home at the end of your stay.
