Three Types of Mystical Experience
Mystical experience, spiritual connection, and meditation have many things in common, and the links are connected on many of the various possible spiritual paths. There are some who are born into a world that is animated by spirits , where mystical connections with all things comes as natural as breathing. Every moment is an inspiration, and every breath is already a meditation. These are rare, and that’s fortunate, because they have the most difficulty in adjusting the world that most people know.
There are those who seek it out their whole lives, who have an inkling at some point in their lives that there is a deeper connection possible, and they follow it. These people are more common than most people realize, and many of the world’s great visionaries actually fall into this category. Mother Teresa , and many of the saints of old, were devoted to spending a lifetime following a spiritual connection that they’d felt very rarely, and also very briefly.
Then there are those who are engaged in other practices of spiritual development, with techniques similar to Sahaja Meditation , where meditation can lead to very quick and spontaneous connections. These are no more nor more less valuable than any of the other kinds of awakening, because all awakenings ultimately lead to the same things, beginning with a life that is filled with more compassion.
